Artist Statement

The evolution of jewellery throughout the centuries is a captivating and enduring concept, once limited to exclusive groups in society, jewellery can now be enjoyed by all, used as a way of self-expression which is heavily influenced by varying fashion trends. Being a part of this millennia-old tradition of making jewellery for others to enjoy is an idea that I have always found encapsulating.

Throughout my work I explore the concept of statement jewellery and how the meaning behind a piece can differ from wearer to wearer. Influenced by the natural world and combining my love of travel, the jewellery I create is often inspired by the places that I have visited and the nature that surrounds me.

Encouraging the wearer to develop their own connotations surrounding their jewellery, I hope to spark an emotional response through the memories which may arise with the piece, creating jewellery that can be treasured for years to come.
